What is the Internet?

Internet was known since 1969, but was only used for military and scientific reason. All users, at that time had to have a good knowledge about the UNIX operating system and about networking. The first step of the growth up of the Internet was due to the collaboration between the militaries and the universities, and since then, more and more universities connected together to share information. In the 70’s a standard language of communication was need to allow sharing of information between different types of computers. This has lead to the birth of a new language (protocol), the TCP/IP at the defense Advance research Project Agency. The mission of this organization was to create a network capable of functioning even if many of its elements were destroyed.
