ADSL Line Connectivity

The information publicized beneath been copied from STC Web Site:

DSL Benefits:

ü       High Speed: DSL provides high-speed data connectivity. For Internet users, this makes fast web browsing and speedy downloads possible.

ü       Performance: STC will offer DSL service a variety of download speeds (the speed at which data arrives at your computer), ranging from 256 kilobits per second to 1.5 Megabit per second. These are maximum speeds. Actual speeds will depend on distance from STC exchange, quality of phone line, internal wiring and Internet Service Provider (ISP) arrangements.

ü       Always On: Your computer is always connected to your ISP. This eliminates the dial-up routines, busy signals, waiting for the connection to happen or lost connections. Of course ISP may require you to log-on for added security.

ü       Convenience: DSL technology enables you to receive or make phone calls without disconnecting the computer from the Internet. This means that you can talk on the phone and browse the web at the same time.

ü       Rapid Deployment: DSL service uses existing telephone lines. There is no need to install special phone lines. Utilizing existing facilities means that the service can be turned on quickly. You may have to install or upgrade wiring in your home or business.

ü       Secure: DSL is a dedicated service between the user and their ISP over an existing telephone line. The service runs on a private, secure channel of communications that links your computer with ISP's router.

ü       Affordable: DSL service is generally lower in price than other high-speed communication technologies. STC approved ISP will set the price for the internet access. STC will charge a monthly fee of 220SR for DSL connection.

ü       Robust: DSL utilizes STC's high performance and high-speed ATM network. This world-class digital network is very robust by nature and is fully redundant.
